Brick, NJ teenager convicted of fatal stabbing by his father

BRICK – This is an 11-year sentence for an Ocean County teenager, resulting from the stabbing death of his own father last winter.

A Superior Court judge has sentenced Ibrahim Khater, 15, of The Brick, and will remain in the custody of the Juvenile Justice Commission, according to the Ocean County prosecutor’s office.

He had previously pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter.

On January 16, police found Mohammed Khater, 38, of The Brick, with a stab wound to the right side of the abdomen, Ocean County District Attorney Bradley Billhimer said.

He died in a local hospital.

The teenager was also convicted of two charges of aggravated assault, as well as throwing bodily fluids at a law enforcement officer following incidents while in the detention center for miners in Ocean County, according to Billhimer.
