The City of Brotherly Love: America’s Grossest City? Irony!
Here’s the thing about Philly and everyone who lives around it: yes, we have our rough edges. We have grain. We don’t mince our words. We are hard to drive.
But the RUDEST city in America?? Says who?
Tell US! Discover this new study conducted by Preply. They surveyed over 1500 inhabitants in the 30 largest cities in the United States and asked them to rank their own rudeness on a scale of 1 to 10, and the average response among Philadelphians was 6.43. So it seems that Philadelphians have largely acknowledged their own rudeness! Because Philadelphia now holds the title of the rudest city in America.
Preply asked city residents to rate their own rudeness on a scale of 1 to 10, and the average response among Philadelphians was 6.43.
The certain behaviors considered rude in this survey were people are too distracted by their phones, refuse to let people blend into trafficand being noisy in a shared space. OK, there is a lot of that in Philadelphia.
I don’t know about you, but my first thought was “Have these people ever been to New York? Boston?” Of course, they made the Top 5.
As for the other grosser cities? Memphis, TN entered at #2. New York, New York #3, Las Vegas, Nevada #4and Boston, Mass. #5.
So in this case, since the residents of each town have rated their OWN rudeness, I’m going to resort to the assumption that those other townspeople just don’t admit how rude they are. Actually are!
What do you think? Do you think Philadelphia is actually the rudest city in America?
