Scooter’s Coffee cuts ribbon on Louisville’s premier location, more to come

Omaha-based Scooter’s Coffee cut the ribbon at its first location in Louisville on Friday morning. The drive-through cafe opened last month at the corner of Dixie Highway and Gagel Avenue in Shively. Joshua Johnston and Jamie Stapelton own the Louisville franchise. The chain was looking to expand into the Louisville market, and the pair were eager to lead the charge. Stapleton says that when doing research for locations, they looked to target major commuting routes. are on their way to their morning destination, whether it’s work or dropping the kids off at school, ”Stapleton said. “It goes straight from the farm to the warehouse where it is roasted and sent straight to our stores,” said Johnston. If you are looking for a quick bite to go with your coffee, these are here for you too. We have a maple waffle sandwich which is pretty awesome. We have breakfast burritos. We have chocolate chip cookies that we can reheat for you that are just fantastic, ”Stapleton said. Scooter plans to open a second location on Dixie Highway in the coming months as well as locations on Poplar Level Road and Shelbyville Road. The goal is to have up to 30 locations in Louisville over the next five years.

“We want to be in high-traffic places when people are heading to their morning destination, whether it’s working or dropping the kids off at school,” Stapleton said.

Scooter’s sources of coffee itself, carefully following the coffee journey from farm to cup.

“It goes straight from the farm to the warehouse where it is roasted and sent straight to our stores,” said Johnston.
