Columbia is home to many of the country’s most popular fast food dishes, from McDonald’s to Chick-fil-A to Chipotle. But the city continues to add new restaurants, and some chains are adding new locations for residents with big appetites and little time to wait.
Here is the latest news on some of Columbia’s most anticipated next fast food restaurants.
Raise the cane
The restaurant known for its chicken fingers and signature Cane sauce is slated to open in early November, located at 203 S. Providence Road.
The location is believed to bring about 150 jobs to Columbia, according to a press release.

The franchise originally planned to open its first store in Columbia on October 26, but has since pushed the date back to November 9.
âLike many businesses across the country, we have unfortunately been affected by construction delays,â the company wrote in an email. “However, we are set to open soon and have hired over 100 crew members to serve our future customers in Colombia. We are excited to be part of the local community.”
Since its founding in 1996 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the franchise has opened a total of 571 restaurants in 31 states. The new location in Columbia will mark Missouri’s 19th location.
âAs one of the fastest growing cities in Missouri, Columbia is a vibrant community with three colleges, a thriving downtown area, and beautiful parks with the MKT Trail running everywhere,â the restaurant chef said. Jarrett Smith in a press release announcing the June opening.

Scooter’s opens its third branch in Columbia at the corner of Ash and Stadium near Chick-fil-A.
The coffee company, which was founded in Nebraska, strives to continue upholding its four core values ââof integrity, love, humility and courage, according to a press release.
The other two Columbia sites are located at 5 Old 63 S and 2501 Grindstone Pkwy.
Culver’s, best known for its frozen custard and Butterburgers, adds an extra location to the area.
Of the new restaurants open, Culver’s is the furthest from its opening date, with construction just starting a few weeks ago.
The skeleton of the building is still being formed and the progress can be seen from Stadium Blvd.
The new restaurant is being built where Ruby Tuesday formally stood, with the process being slightly extended as the old building had to be demolished for the new one to be put in its place.
The chain will bring another location to satisfy your sweet tooth with a different flavor available every day alongside their traditional customizable concretes.
